Here are the "Chocoholic Follies": Hazel Nut, Kitty Kat and Curley Wurly Shirley.

Studios North Manager Eddie Kirkham stands in front of the chocolate volcano, "Chocuvious", during its construction.

The base of Chocuvious under construction in Towers Street.
Chocuvious is looking much closer to completion now.
Less than a week before the Chocolate Towers event, and a crane appears in Towers Street.
Chocuvious is brought on-site in pieces, ready to be reconstructed.
Another large component is brought in. When complete, the volcano will 'erupt' with Cadbury's Heroes spewing out.
Chocuvious on the bottom most raised lawn area, ready for chocolate explosions.

The Chocuvious 'launch system' appears to be a series of pipes.
A massive Eden Project style dome has arrived in Fountain Square - this could be the "Chocolate Grotto".
An inflatable tent arrives for 'egg painting' and 'temporary tattoos'.

Chocolate Towers starts today!
A rather frosty start to the day for Chocuvious.
This chocolate monster greets you at the top of Towers Street.

A chocolate TV set which guests can pose behind.
Looking through the 'TV set', you can see Chocuvious.
There were lots of these lollipops dotted around the place.
The frog fountains were decorated with giant faux chocolate pieces.
One of the activities was to spot all of these letters which were spread right across the park. If you could get them all and make a word, you won a prize. Hint: it's the name of one of the Chocoholic Follies...

Up close and personal with Chocuvious.
More candy sticks flanking the volcano.
A look from the other side.
From the bottom of Towers Street, looking towards the top.
Heading down towards Fountain Square, more banners for the event are on show.
Looking over towards the Chocolate Grotto.
Inside, many guests are queuing up to get their chance to meet "Father Chocolate".
These were also everywhere.
Some more random chocolate/candy theming.
The Egg Decorating tent, also in Fountain Square.
You could pay £1 to get an egg, which you then could decorate as much as you liked.
... so naturally, we had to give it a go! Here, ATA team member Chris Keating proudly shows off his creation.
Many staff around the park were wearing these specially-commissioned uniforms, which was another nice touch.
The Chocoholic Follies show was around 20 minutes long, with many songs having their words changed to fit in with the event's theme. So Chico's "It's Chico Time" became "It's Chocolate Time"...
Ride close, and it's almost time for Chocuvious to erupt. Entertainers were on hand to get the crowd going.
They were joined by Father Chocolate himself.
More entertainers walking around the area.
This lovely lady poses for us.
A human cupcake also joined in the festivities.
Meanwhile, over at the Alton Towers Hotel, the main entrance is also decorated for the occasion.
Inside the foyer, there is more candy theming.
Splash Landings also got a makeover.
Inside the Time Out lounge, which was very impressive.
The mood was very relaxing, with music playing softly, and many giant leather cushions dotted around the room.
The lights on low, to further the mood.
The lounge proved very popular, with guests having to wait for seating space.
Guests were able to gamble for chocolate money.
The money could then be exchanged for a go at the chocolate fountain, a giant fondue set.
Chocolate lovers' heaven!
Some giant inflatable eggs have appeared in Towers Street.
