A poster for the Scarefest, advertising the "very young" scares.
Another poster, this one for the attractions aimed at slightly older children.
The third poster, this time for the scares only suitable for teens/adults.
The modified Alton Towers logo, for the Scarefest event.
The traditional Halloween hearse makes an appearance at the end of Towers Street in mid-August, promoting the event to guests.
A closer look at the hearse.
The four Halloween characters are here: outside the hearse are Skelvin, Phil and Patch, and inside is Franklin.

On the back are flags with the modified Halloween logo on.
The event is under way! Towers Street is appropriately decorated for the occasion.
Skulls and pumpkins are the order of the day.
A spider sits atop a cauldron, at the bottom of Towers Street.
A wider look at the cauldron.
The hearse has now been surrounded by creepy giant hands.
One of the Scarefest characters, Phil, meets the guests in Cred Street.
And here is Patch, in the Cred Street Playground.

The ATTV show in the Cred Street Theatre had a Scarefest makeover for the event.
The laser show played to crowds in Her Ladyship's Gardens, by the exit of Hex.
The show was a nice addition, and utilised the same equipment normally brought out for the Fireworks event.
The music tracks used were along a 'spooky' theme.
Lasers also projected images onto the Towers, which provided a wonderful arena for the show.
The laser show lasted around 15 minutes.
Over at the Hotels, the banks lining the road down to the ATH were also decorated.
A coffin also lines the route.
Some great decoration next to the Alton Towers Hotel reception, representing the fallen branch from the Hex storyline.
The corridor/queue line area for the hotel maze, Room 13.
Outside, the new maze Field of 1000 Screams proved extremely popular.
The size of the corn field was astounding.
In the distance, you can see the pumpkin-headed scarecrow that was put in the maze months ago.
The shop next to the queue line was also themed, which was another nice touch.
The Altonville Store was quite popular at night, when the queue for the maze was sometimes well over an hour.
The entrance sign, complete with "scare rating" at the bottom.

Looking across the field, you can see one part where guests have to crawl under obstacles.
The exit of the maze from the 'farmhouse'.
A crashed car forms part of the second scene.
The building, which guests actually enter twice during the maze - but it's done in such a way that you think it's two different buildings.
Another look at the crashed car.
Also running during Scarefest were special "Scare Rooms" in the hotel. This is the corridor where the rooms were located.
Inside, normal rooms had been redecorated to reflect the theme.
A picture, which changed depending on where you looked at it, from a pleasant little girl to a skeletal alternative!
Cobwebs lining the mirror.
A skull sat atop the TV.
A Bible was provided, complete with bloody hand prints.
A torture chair sat in the corner, which was used as the "finale" when actors would do a mock execution of another actor, in front of the room's guests.
More decoration on the walls. Guests had to sign a form upon arrival agreeing to give up their rights to sleep until after 2am.
The actors had many tricks up their sleeves, including being able to dim or cut the rooms' lights from outside. They also had a key to all the rooms, so locking the door wouldn't help!
The bathrooms were really gruesome, with bloody hand prints everywhere.
A closer look at the bathroom decoration.
The shower also featured its fair share of blood.
