Track arrives |
The base of the station is in place.
A wider look at the site.
Across towards Rita's brake run.
Footers in place at the start of the layout.
A trench for the track before the lift hill.
We're expecting construction to proceed very quickly from this point.
Where the lift hill will be.
Now then, look what we found in one of the car parks...
Several trucks have arrived - what could they contain?
RCS (Ride Construction Service) are familiar with the SW6 site - they were the company responsible for constructing Rita in the adjacent area.
More interestingly... track has arrived!
A close look at one of the sections. That confirms beyond doubt that it is an Intamin coaster.
What looks to be transfer track.
More SW6 track, with a black paint scheme to match the "dark forest" theme.
For the station or maintenance area possibly?
The other steelwork from the side.
We'll now have two Intamins side-by-side, similar to the Forbidden Valley which has two B&Ms.
Cranes have also arrived, ready to lift the track sections into place.
Note the buffer - this will be for the maintenance area.
The holes here look like they're for 'kicker' wheels to be placed.
A large area has been set aside for the steelwork - more is expected over the next month.
Looking back across.
Close-up detail on the track join.
Might this section be for the turnaround preceding the lift hill?
Electronic components have also been delivered.
A family coaster is one that appeals to all - somewhere between "thrill" and "kiddie" (The Beastie). An example of this type would be Spinball Whizzer.
Labelling on the side of one of the crates.
A storage tank, presumably for silica sand.
Shock absorbers.
Drive pulley.
